Finally! A Wireless Router that is not a Toy!!

I first tried wireless B a couple of years ago and I was extremely disappointed with the limited range. It seemed more like a kid's toy than it did a real technology break-through. I ended up going the powerline route shortly after that and I was content to be semi-wireless.

I bought the WRT54GX after reading the review in PC Mag giving it the Editor's rating. I have not been disappointed. The range on this router is great. I have a large two story house and I can get a "very good" signal anywhere - through floors, walls, around staircases. This is what I thought I was buying to 2 years ago.

I have an XP MCE desktop that I use as a server and a HP printer hot wired to the router. And an MCE Extender streaming Media player wireless & Laptop wireless on the floor below and it handles all four of these input very well. Bravo, Linksys! The WRT54GX costs a little more than the other MIMO routers, but spend the extra money and save the headaches that a cheaper device can give you.
