Excellent business router/firewall solution!
Pros:
Very stable - never has to be cycled
Cons:
SPI seems a bit touchy - might be my ISP though
The Bottom Line:
Very solid, never locks-up and it keeps my home office online 24/7 - I love it!

Author's Review
Bought the D-Link DGL-4300 in June of 2005 and have used it in a home office environment since that time. I have run this router through it's paces and it's been a very solid performer. I run a network with 8 computers, 4 Gigabit D-Link switches, Web/FTP server, VoIP phone service, a network NAS for DVD storage and playback on a media PC and more. My network is under constant pressure all the time. I work out of my home and connect to client sites all day long via Remote Desktop, VNC, VPN and various other remote connection applications. The DGL-4300 has worked perfectly with virtually no problems at all.
The router features all the typical security features: SPI firewall, basic NAT routing, port forwarding rules, IP inbound/outbound filter rules, etc. The most interesting and useful feature is D-Link's Gamefuel technology. This functionality allows the router to give priority to certain IP addresses or applications (games primarily). The real benefit for me, is that it also gives priority to VoIP traffic. Even with heavy network traffic, my VoIP calls always sound great with virtually no quality issues. I don't play games on my LAN so I can't comment on how this affect game play, but have heard good reports.
The router NEVER has to be rebooted because of lock-ups. I can't speak to earlier firmware, but the latest firmware is rock solid. I leave all my computers on 24/7 and this router is constantly under heavy stress and it has never had to be cycled - very impressive. I don't use the wireless functionality of the router, so I can't speak to it's performance but it worked fine for the few weeks that I had it enabled.
The web interface is pretty intuitive and all features work exactly as you'd expect. The only 2 features I wasn't able to get to work perfectly are the Sentinel Internet filtering service that D-Link apparently offers and the SPI firewall functionality. I don't know if the Sentinel service is up and running now, but it was in Beta forever and I never did get it to work and went with another Internet filtering solution. The SPI firewall worked fine with my DSL, but when I switched to cable recently, my FTP traffic started being rejected by the SPI rules. I needed to disable SPI to make FTP connections to and from my network, not sure if it's my ISP or some funky issue with the SPI logic. Have to take the issue up with my ISP at some point.
The bottom line, is that this router is a heavy hitter and a very solid unit. I use it locally on my network and my co-workers also use this box. We also have it running at our corporate headquarters and it's been great. Highly recommended!
