Good Toy for Curious 1.5 Year Old

We bought this Vtech Tote ‘n Go Laptop Plus for our son when he was a year and a half old.  The toy was very easy for him to turn on and he quickly figured out how to use the computer.  He loved the upper case alphabet game and the music player.  There is a range of games on the computer that can entertain young kids to kids as old as 4.  Some games for older kids include a missing letter challenge and a flying spaceship game to teach a child how to use a mouse. This is the first computer that he used where he was not able to rip off the keys.  The graphics on the computer are OK.  They are all monochromatic and the screen does not light up so the computer has to be used in well light areas.  The sound is good too.  The volume control offers a wide range of volumes making it very versatile.  The computer body is very sturdy and held up to being dropped and thrown multiple times. While the computer seems to be well made, the battery plate that goes over the batteries does not have a screw on it, so my son quickly lost the back piece to hold the batteries in. Overall, this computer lasted about 6 months of very hard playing every day.  One day the computer just stopped working which isn't much of a surprise considering how hard my son played with it. I would recommend this product to any parent of young children.
