Looks good but won't last!

I am a long time loyal customer to V tech. Their 900mhz, 2.4 & 5.8 phones have all lasted well as they are made durable & are high quality.

When we got this phone 6 months ago we like the sleek look & compact handsets. We were also looking for something that was wireless friendly. Like I said before... V tech is a brand we know & love so we didn't think twice before dropping $90 for the set.

Pros:

Quality Sound
Durable
Good Answering machine
Awesome quality speaker phone
Long Recording time
Expandable with more handsets


Cons:
CRAPPY BATTERY!!!!
No headset plug in
no 1- on the caller ID for long distance calls
only 26# can be entered so it doesn't work with all automated systems including calling cards

Honestly the other cons aren't all that important to me but the Battery life is the reason why these phones are being replaced! With-in 2 months they would not hold a charge for more then 12 hours STANDBY! Now at six months they die if off the charger for more then 2 hrs & only have 60-90 minutes of talk time. We considered buying new batteries until we realized that EVERYONE has this problem. My boyfriend thinks its because they still use lots of power even when not being used.

This is a great phone besides that battery, but unfortunately its one of those make it or break it things! We plan on replacing them with a set of Philip's 6.0 phones with in the next month

It would work well if it was for a guest room or somewhere that was more for looks & just occasional use. NOT for everyday use.
