Pros: Solid feeling, solid built car. For the money, why would you buy a Ford Taurus?
Cons: Drinks premium only.
The Bottom Line: Awesome car, buy it if you have the chance.

Review: I am a new owner of a used Passat Wagon 1.8 T. I'll have to write an updated review once I get more miles on her, but this car is solid to say the least.
First I must say this. It's interesting to read the few negative remarks about this... |

Pros: Styling
Cons: Quality Dealerships Manufacturer won't stand behind car
The Bottom Line: I would never own a VW again. Vw won't stand behind their car and neither will any of the dealers. Nothing but problems.

Review: I bought a 2003 GL Passat with Tiptronic trans in Sep '02. Love the look, love the safety features - hate the dealers and hate the problems.
The first month it was in the shop for 27 days (Just 3 days short of the CA lemon law... |

Review: We bought this car last year due to expected addition to our family (wanted to upgrade from a 2-door car my husband was driving). Somehow I ended up with this wonderful VW and my hubby (poor guy) is now in my old car. He says that if we had to buy...

Pros: Fun to drive; well-handling, well-appointed, nice car for the money.
Cons: Prone to falling apart. When it rains, it pours.

Review: I loved my 1.8 Turbo Passat. It was fun to drive, rode like a much heavier car than it actually was, and just felt well-built overall.
Unfortunately, after turning only 30,000 miles everything began to fall apart. The ignition... |

Review: A nice car for the price. This is my second VW had to trade in 2002 Jetta GLS, too many problems, but I loved the car. The Passat has been solid, great gas mileage 22/28. Has a lots of nice features for the price. I hope to keep this for a while...

Pros: Nice interior, great handling, well equiped
Cons: Poor quality control on some electronics, poorly informed sales staff
The Bottom Line: Given the standard options and performance for the price, this is a great car compared to the competition.

Review: I had been in the market for a new car for some time, and drove all of the Japanese contenders in the $23-30k range. I've had my eye on the Passat for some time as well. I drove this last and I'm glad I did. Much of what you have heard about this...

Pros: High quality, many features, a great compact wagon choice
Cons: Needs way to hold shopping bags in cargo area, fuel mileage
The Bottom Line: A very comfortable, luxurious 4 passenger compact wagon offering good performance, fine quality, and adequate cargo space. MPG a concern, hopefully being corrected.

Review: We bought a 2003 Passat GLX Wagon to finally escape from the boredom of minivans, and be able to get 4WD and still carry a reasonable quantity of stuff for lifestyle and hobbies. After looking at the top-of-the-line Subarus, we chose the Passat for...

Review: This is a great car. I am 6'5 and fit in well, plenty of room. The Passat rides like a velvet tank, smooth, quiet, but a tad slow out of the gate. The fit and finish are first rate, better than the Toyota Highlander I also own. This car is based on...

Pros: Wonderful ride, great handling, great gas mileage, smooth shifting 5 speed
Cons: a little on the pricey side, 1.8t is a little slow off the line.
The Bottom Line: When you are sitting and driving in this car, there is no question that you are riding in a precision built driving machine. I would absolutely recommend this car.

Pros: Engine; Tiptronic transmission; ride and handling; solid, well-built feel; styling
Cons: Limited interior storage space; light colored interior shows all scuffs; tires; stereo
The Bottom Line: Except for tire issues the car has been perfect. It's good looking, has a nice ride, and fuel economy is good (I'm averaging 26). It's a buy.

Review: I've been driving my 2003 Passat for three months now. It's a Colorado Red GLS model with the tiptronic transmission, 4-cylinder engine, Monsoon stereo and winter package. After 4,000 miles here's my two cents on the car:
