This was my very first, brand spanking new car! I'd been dreaming of buying a Beetle since I was 15, so when I was finally able to buy one, I was in 7th heaven.
The car I had at the time, was a Saturn, which was previously owned by my older sister, and it had been in a bad accident. I took over the payments from her, and after a while, it started having all sorts of problems. I used the Saturn as a trade in for my Beetle. I was able to get my car on lease, with no other money down, so it was perfect!
I couldn't wait to get all the options that I would have wanted, or even the color of my choice, I just had to pick one out from the cars they had on the lot. As it turned out, the one they had was Silver, and I fell in love!
I"ve had a few minor problems with my sweet little car, but nothing too horrible. The first thing that happened was that the passenger airbag strap was put in the car incorrectly. It was under warranty so, I was able to get it replaced. The service at the dealership I bought my baby at wasn't very good. It took them 2 weeks to get the replacement part, and the only reason they finally got it in was because I was nagging them! The airbag problem showed up again two years ago, but it was still under warranty so I was able to get it fixed for free.
I've had 2 problems with the battery. The original battery died after about a year. The second battery just needed a recharge a couple of weeks ago. I haven't replaced it, not sure if I need to. I"ve lived in Las Vegas for almost a year now and the extreme heat and extreme cold kinda kill batteries.
Those are the only two problems I've had with my bug. The few things that I don't like too much are the fact that there's no ceiling dome light, and the window frame gives me a blind spot that makes turning a sharp left turn a little awkward.
My boyfriend says the New Beetle isn't a real bug, but I love it! Beware of not being able to tell how fast your driving in it. My little baby loves going really fast, and it's a smooth as buttah! I'd highly recomend this car to anyone... although it's mostly a girlie car! ;)
