Two years later, I still love it!
Pros:
Great style, nice handling, fun to drive, spacious, comfy, looks great!
Cons:
Who designed that seat knob? Ugh!
The Bottom Line:
If you want a car that will be good to you repair-wise, get this car.

Author's Review
My Jetta GLS is now going on three and has 75K miles on it--not a single engine problem, no major problems of any sort. The only issues are in the cabin--the "matte" finish around the controls has peeled and bubbled off, the sun visors are too short (or I am, depending on your perspective), and my daughter complains that it smells funny (for some reason, leaves are getting stuck under where the wipers rest, rotting, and leaving an attractive stench behind). The seats are very comfy, though I got the upgraded upholstery, which clings to every fuzzball for life.
I would buy another in a heartbeat. One thing to note--the car goes through a ton of oil. I put in a quart every 2,000 miles. It's a minor thing, something that's been going on since I bought it new, but I simply set my trip meter and add oil religiously.
One thing I hate--you have to be a contortionist in order to put the seat back up or back. The knob is behind you on the side of the seat, and it's damn dangerous to try adjusting if you're moving, so don't.
Overall, I love this car!
