The Bottom Line: If you are thinking about buying an MKIV today, make sure you are mechanically inclined or you have an extended warranty.

The Bottom Line: Average car, nothing special. If you like the looks, and it isn't rusted yet, go for it. Chances are all the worst problems are gone.
Review: I bought this car used in 2000. I really love the look of the MK3 Volkswagen Golf and It was the right car for me at the time (I was a student). It had 82 000 KM with the warranty just expired at 80 000 KM. The previous owner sold at the right time...
