Definitely NOT In Vogue

Date of Review: Feb 10, 2000

If you want to look for a reason why so many American girls are anorexic, Vogue is part of that reason.

The magazine promotes that in order to be in, you have to look a certain way, dress a certain way and behave a certain way. Most American teenage girls, I imagine, can not feel related to this magazine, as 95 percent of our girls can not afford the fashions presented in this magazine.

If magazines like this dedicated themselves on really showcasing all the women that are "in", then American girls would know that looks aren't everything that counts, that with a good mind and efford, they can all make it, and that even if they didn't have a so called "perfect look" they can still be somebody!

On the upper side, Vogue does let American girls to dream about reaching that status, that place where they can be considered beautiful by everyone and buy anything they dream about at the same time.

But, is Vogue magazine there for those girls when, as in the 95 percent of all cases, those dreams fail to come true??? I dont think so. And you know why? Because they are too busy talking about the ones that made it, to talk to the ones who didn't, and that is what separates this magazine in class from Cosmopolitan and Vanity Fair, 2 magazines that always offer practical tips to everyone on bigger, more important issues of life.

That is why Vogue has been officialy declared by me....NOT in Vogue..:)
