The "Bible" of Fashion

If you're into fashion, you can't miss a single issue of this magazine. I realize that Vogue has many critics, but you don't read this magazine for its realistic portrayals of fashion--it's fashion in the truest sense...

After working in the fashion industry for over 12 years, I know that this magazine is not for the "working" budget. Vogue is about setting trends before it filters down to the masses. If you're expecting to see something you can afford in its pages--you need to purchase Glamour, Marie Claire, etc., etc. It amazes me when people get offended that it's not realistic--it's not supposed to be. Just as the models aren't supposed to be. If there are girls out there that are getting mixed up views and images of what beauty really is--it's not Vogue that's contributing to their problems--it's their lives at home. I have read this magazine since I was 14 years-old, and I have never believed that I would only be considered beautiful if I grew 6 inches and lost weight. Realize what the purpose of this magazine really is...if you're taking it so seriously that it's affecting your self-esteem...you need to find out the "real" reasons why.

I highly recommend Vogue for its fashion appeal. This magazine sets the trends--everyone else follows. Along with other publications such as WWD (Women's Wear Daily)--Vogue is considered to be one of the "Bibles" of the Fashion World.
