Author's Review

The Vizio L32 HDTV is amazing.

I did allot of research in the 700-1100 range for 32" LCD TV's. The biggest thing for me was if I were to buy now was if I get HDTV ready or a unit with an HDTV ATSC tuner built-in. One or more HDMI ports. DVI Inputs, sheer size, and other small little things I wanted. To me things like included cables and how good the remote works does not concern me. I use one of those all in one (shameless plug) remotes that works all my electronics including macros.
During my research I actually went and found out; because I did not know. Who runs this company? Well after some searching i found that the President used to build all the flat panels for Gateway when they had the home stores. They also have about 20-30 staff in southern California and you never know you may get the president on the phone answering service calls. All of this, due to the fact I have been in and out of the Service industry for 10 years made me think that if a small company like this makes a good product at a decent profit why shouldn't I support them.

The Vizio L32 was the answer to all of my wants and all of the things I thought I may need in the future.

The Good, The bad and the Ugly:
The good:
OSD with video presets and user adjustability. Audio controls which include reverb settings. (kinda like what you have with a home theater receiver) Great little speakers. I mean I am still impressed with the sound clarity even at a 25% level in a busy room with 2 and 3 year old kids!
Heck it does not weigh much either good to know when you have to move it around, 43 lbs.
Vesa 100 and 200 mounting for you viewing pleasure on a wall. I have not hooked it up on the wall yet we will wait for that one.
Picture Quality. Blacks are black, grays are gray. I am astonished by how great it looks.

The Bad:
I only have an extremely short list here. Kinda thick compared to comparable units. The inputs on the back are easy to insert and remove however, the sticker which is brightly colored is mounted vertically so unless you lay on the floor you will never figure out which input to use.
The video/audio cable supplied is useful but still on the low side of Big Lots if you know what I mean. But I am not complaining......... :)

The Ugly:
I doubt you will ever find anything on the flat panel that should go into this column. Nuff said!

Conclusion:
I found this unit to have everything I was looking for with none of the hang ups of 'HD ready' TV(I'll take that extra $200 thank you) Easy OSD navigation and HDTV ready to watch out of the box. You will wait longer to see ESPNHD by waiting for the cable company than you will watching the on air channels local to your area. I see absolutely no picture, audio or craftsmanship quality difference between this unit and units costing much more. (With them you are paying for those advertising dollars)
See you don't have to drive to a major city to buy a great little High Def TV just go to Wal-Mart or SAM’s club!!! Save you dough buy Vizio.....
