Cannot save settings - A REAL PAIN!

After setting various settings in the menus, including turning off the beep and setting image resolution, you'll discover making changes are a waste of time. One you turn off the power and turn it back on the settings are reset. A real disappointment. The menus are also sluggish, my guess slow chips. We bought this camera and a Samsung Digimax 301 at the same time and are taking the Vivitar back and getting another Samsung.
