Virtual Reality VRCD400-SDU CD Player from Roadmaster USA/WalMart/Heartland

by   skipgundlach ,  May 1, 2007
Pros: CD/USB/SDChip/MP3-WMA inputs, nice presentation, easy install, killer customer service
Cons: problems in units I've had - but see above about Customer Service
The Bottom Line: The overall product rating is excellent. That's actually the company; the product is above average. I'd buy any of their products without a second thought based on their customer service.
Review: Where do I begin... I'm afraid I'll sound like a shill, or a company employee. I'm neither. I have an odyssey which started with my buying one of the earlier models at WalMart. That model had 4x45 into 4 speakers, including two speakers which ...

Conservative view of this 3 IN 1 CD/MP3/WMA RECEIVER

by   jurassical1 ,  Sep 17, 2006
Pros:
PRICE
USB SLOT
SD SLOT
MP3 FRONT INPUT
WMA/CDA/MP3 CAPABILITY
CD
Loudness Control
ESTHETICS-BLACK FACE
Cons: 30 day warranty. Hope I'm lucky! For the price and added features: Nothing else.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended to anyone looking for a good, economical multi-purpose head unit. 1 volt RCA output jacks for additional AMPlifier or other pre-amp requirement; SUBwoofer RCA jacks, so it's expandable.
Review: First of all, it installed fairly easily in my '92 Protege. Simply followed directions from the black, red and blue manual, and bought a wiring harness conversion at Fry's for $20 which allows removing the radio upon sale of the vehicle and easy old ...

More than meets the eye

by   pervertedewok ,  Jan 21, 2007
Pros: Aux, SD, USB, removable faceplate. No premature skipping in mp3 mode.
Cons: Frame has a lip that is not removable.
The Bottom Line: For the money, it has a ton of features. Biggest issues from other reviews have been addressed in a new revision.
Review: I bought the unit Dec 2006 from Walmart. It was not mounted in the display area, but sitting on the shelf under the connection wires. Several people who wrote earlier reviews seem to have had some bad experiences and some have had some decent ones. I ...

Cheapest stereo.. most features.. reliability? TBD

by   brrowla ,  Nov 7, 2006
Pros: SD USB RCA CD AUX hook up anything. Great price point for an old car.
Cons: Vol knob beep is dumb. I know i'm turning up the volume thanks.
The Bottom Line: How can you go wrong with those features and that price. Don't live with that old FoMoCo stereo in your old ragged out ride.
Review: I picked up this european market stereo at the local walmart. I already drive 2 imports (from right hand drive countries) that have the radio knob on the wrong side.. So I didnt notice right away, but sure enough.. its on the wrong side. This radio ...

VRCD400-USB review - updated 8/1/06

by   dryden3 ,  Jan 10, 2006
Pros: -Decent sound. -FM works great on latest generation. -Good MP3 file navigation. -EXCELLENT tech support.
Cons: -Sometimes skips to next MP3 mid-song. -Plays from beginning-of, not middle-of, last song at key-up.
The Bottom Line: I recommend buying it because it does great things for the money you spend on it. I've never seen any other model with as much bang for my buck
Review: SECOND GENERATION VRCD400-USB REVIEW: When I first wrote the review at the bottom, I had the first generation model VRCD400-USB radio. After working with the Roadmaster tech support guys over its poor FM reception, they mailed me the second generation ...

Attention Walmart Shoppers...

by   darkfreedom2 ,  Jul 7, 2007
Pros: Plenty of user friendly features and good sound.
Cons: As of this review, I can't think of anything that would be considered a con.
The Bottom Line: If you want a good sound and want to keep the cost under $100, this is definately a unit worth looking in to.
Review: I bought this unit recently due to the self-destruction of the previous unit in my van. I was really impressed by the usb and sd ports while looking at the different models in the store. I ultimately chose this unit, and also picked up a GM wire harness ...
