Viking 1,000 Watts VSM700 Stand Mixer
Date of Review: May 31, 2007
The Bottom Line: Buy if you bake and enjoy high end appliances.
I bought this mixer over a year ago and still love it. I bought it because my counters would not allow the height of the largest Kitchen Aid Mixer. I have had a small Bosch mixer for 20 years and went in a kitchen store to buy the bigger Bosch but the owner of the store convinced me I would like this mixer better if I wanted to do more than bread. I have not been disappointed. The flour never spills over when mixing. I also bought the sausage attachment and the sieve attachment. I have used all of the attachments and found that the power in the mixer really makes the attachment work well. I have been very pleased with all the viking products.
Before I purchased this mixer I did a through research on the web to see if I could find something low for my counters but very powerful. I looked but could not find anything I could use.
This product needs to have the paddle and the whip adjusted so it comes very close to bottom of the bowl, but it does not get in the way of the bowl. I found this a little difficult, but now I am used to it and adjust to certain recipes. This a mixer for those who cook a lot and want to be able to mix large quantities.
