VMOS200 MICROWAVE DEFECTIVE

by   phazyme ,  Jan 7, 2004
Pros: Good unit. Check the serial number (see review).
Cons: Evasive answers at Viking. Be armed with this knowledge before buying.
The Bottom Line: The newer ones are probably great. The older ones, will probably be great, once you have fixed your signal switch. Easy to fix the defect(20')
Review: The VMOS200 microwave by Viking, has a defect, that causes the fuse to blow, and power out. The defect is called a signal switch, which is somehow located in the door, and overheats causing a fuse blow out. The unit is made by Sharp, for Viking which ...

BEWARE

by   ternstyle ,  Sep 29, 2003
Pros: Makes a good doorstop.
Cons: Doesn't work. Laughable customer service. As expensive as they come.
Review: I purchased this microwave in May. It has operated a total of about 10 days since that time (out of about 4 months). It keeps blowing an internal (read "service technician only") fuse. The warranty shop has had it now for three weeks waiting for a part fr ...

HOW FAR CAN YOU THROW A VIKING MICROWAVE

by   viking_victim ,  Nov 4, 2007
Pros: It is the same brand as my range
Cons: The only CON is Viking Corp.
Review: I can probably throw mine 5 feet into a wall. I had the same fuse/switch blowing ordeal, plus half of my LCD panel doesn't light up and I can't find anyone who sells parts. It costs me about the price of 2 good microwaves to repair 1 crappy ...

Dead after 2 years 3 months

by   mikefeller ,  Oct 18, 2006
Pros: The microwave worked flawlessly for 26 months until it suddenly quit altogether
Cons: I expect a $500 microwave to work longer than 2 years & 3 months
Review: We purchased a Viking 1100 watt microwave oven from RSI Distributing in St. Louis in July, 2004. After relatively light usage during the past 2 years & 3 months (mostly to make popcorn and oatmeal), our microwave suddenly would not "power-up". We took ...

viking STINKS !!!

by   philipfain ,  Mar 22, 2008
Pros: Absolutely NONE
Cons: Nothing Viking works.
Review: I have an all Viking kitchen, less than 3 years old. Tonight the microwave caught fire. The $4,000.00 range/convection oven has been defective since day 1 and still does not work. The microwave was replaced once, one week after it was installed. The ...

An Expensive Piece of Junk

by   huaguosan ,  Jun 8, 2008
Pros: Matches our Viking Oven.
Cons: Expensive, poor quality, no customer service.
Review: After just 2 years, the fuse keeps burned out and the display is almost gone. It takes 2 minutes to replace the fuse, but an hour to move it in and out, as it is big and heavy to handle. Bought it because my wife wanted to have matching brand. Quite an ...
