Quality 19" Graphics Monitor
Pros:
Great looks. Clear display. Requires moderate desk space. Simple Menu. Quality Affordable 19" Monitor.
Cons:
Has a flatscreen, but not a flat display. Isn't noticable for concern however.
The Bottom Line:
Excellent Quality 19" Monitor for under £190, and it will compliment your Black Tower too. Anything better will cost you almost double.

THE REVIEW:
First, it may be worth mentioning how difficult it was for me to find these monitors. Perhaps it may be easier to buy them outside the Christmas period, nevertheless it took me 3 weeks to get my two because suppliers were all out of stock, but they certainly were worth the wait.
For under £190 including VAT, the G90f+B is reasonably priced for a quality 19" monitor such as this. Even the box itself is rather pleasing and exudes quality beyond most, which made me rather excited about getting inside.
As I crouched down to pick the first box up, I braced myself for an elephant. Suprisingly, the box weighed no more than an average 17" monitor and thus was managable for myself to carry indoors.
Upon opening the box, the monitor base attachment was residing in the top of the polystyrene packing-blocks, under which lay a plastic wallet with the CD-ROM and Quick Start booklet. Putting these to one side, I lifted the monitor out of the box and placed it on my desk without any trouble. I haven't bothered attaching the plastic monitor bases, but rather placed the monitors directly on the desk (the 4 rubber feet underneath the monitor make this friendly to desks).
The first thing that striked me, was that a monitor cable was already conveniently attached to the monitors (and they even had protective caps on). And, to help save even further desk space, the lower-back area of the monitors has a 80mm pit area which prevents the monitor and power cables from knocks, and neatly contains the desk depth to 480mm in actual operation which is a very welcomed thought for a CRT Monitor.
As soon as I plugged the power cables in and connected the monitor cables, I booted up my machine and turned the monitors on without any problems in Windows XP, but I thought to play it safe and downloaded the latest G90f+B drivers. At this point I noticed one of the monitors need the Pincushion and Trapezoid setings changed a touch. The menu system was so simple, that I didn't even take the Quick Start booklet out of the wallet.
Now, because my existing 17" Monitor was running at 1600 x 1200 without any problem, I thought I'd set my primary G90f+B to 1600 x 1200. Oh dear . . . to my suprise, text was displaying with a noticable blur/distortion. However, when I went into the Advanced Settings tab under the Display Properties, I found that changing the DPI setting from the standard 96 DPI to 120 DPI worked a treat. Though it didn't seem quite perfect.
I'm sure if I'd played around with custom DPI settings for a few minutes that I could have improved things further, but as my G400 Dual Monitor card only supports two 1280 x 1024 displays, I adjusted my monitors accordingly. At this resolution, the display was perfect.
Something that may bother some people though, is that although this monitor has a TRUE flat screen, it does not have a TRUE flat display like that of a LCD. Despite this fact, the curvature is simply not noticable during use.
Another feature I did like, is the Tilt menu option, that allows the display to sit perfectly straight within the screen - something that no monitor I've seen has, and a problem that has bugged me with every single monitor I've ever seen and used.
A perhaps not noticable feature, but certainly something of interest to myself, is that the monitor cases were almost 50% cooler to the touch than my 17" monitor, after being on for several hours.
If you can find one . . . I recommend you buy it. Buy two. You will not be disappointed.
