From The Top, The Bottom Is Found

Vertigo is a film filled with intense scenes of psychological play on words, actions and characters.
This film by Hitchcock is filled with beautiful passages of love, trickery and fate.

I highly enjoyed watching Vertigo for the first time late last night. The movie had been on my list for a long time, and I had finally ordered it a month a go, and yesterday it showed up at my doorstep. After the house became quiet, I stuck it in the VCR, made sure the coffee pot was near by and set myself ready for another Hitchcock thriller.

I was not disappointed in this film. It is long (over two hours) but the film is filled with so much suspense that the time isn't even noticed. (a big plus in my book)

Hitchcock took characters that could be anyone and developed a film filled with such twists and turns, you aren't sure exactly what will happen next.

The ending was a large surprise. I was not expecting it to happen along the lines it did. (I shouldn't have been that surprised since it was a Hitchcock film, but I was)

Short Blurb:
A detective chasing a bad guy on the rooftops along with a fellow police officer finds out that he has vertigo and watches his peer fall off the roof and die. This leaves an experience in this man's mind that he can't forget though he tries with jokes and small experiments. (climbing on a stool and reliving the drowning feeling of fear of heights).
An old school mate of his calls him out of the blue for help. His old school mate wants to hire the detective to follow his wife around. He thinks that there is something seriously wrong with her mind and doesn't want her to hurt herself.
Reluctantly the detective takes the job and follows the woman around town. He watches her, and slowly he falls in love with her. And her, him.
Then the movie starts the twists and the turns that only Hitchcock can do.
The woman dies...or does she?
Why does the detective find another woman that looks so much like the dead wife?
What secrets does his old school mate have?
I am not telling, but to find these anwsers and so much more, then you have to rent the movie. (or purchase it like I did at a very reasonable price)

You will find that this movie is one of Hitchcock's best, right up there with Psycho. So much more to this movie then meets the eye, and you don't get any anwsers till the very end, something that is quite appealing for Hitchcock fans.
