Works ok but poor construction + expensive
Pros:
works well as a humidifier, keeps humidity level constant
Cons:
cheap construction, no water level meter
The Bottom Line:
Because of the cheap construction, high price and lack of features I can't recommend this. There are probably other cold water humidifiers that are a better deal.

Like the other reviewers here I agree the Venta is very easy to clean, which is a plus. It does also seem much better at controlling the amount of humidity, which I guess makes sense since it does not heat up the water but just uses normal evaporation.
But overall I found this product to be disappointing. It is expensive and I was expecting a lot more than I got. The biggest problems:
- Construction: it says "made in Germany", and it looks like it in the photos, but that's where the similarities stop. The hinges are very weak folded plastic, the sides of case are also made of the same plastic and crack easily and the clips that hold the case together shut can very easily break. I actually had to return 2 units to the store where I bought it because both had cracks and broken bits, which were probably damaged in shipping. I definitely recommend against buying this mailorder/internet.
- Features: there is no way to see the water level! I mean how complicated would it be to add a water level on the side so you don't have to open up the box to see if it needs a refill. Also would be nice to have some way of tracking when you are supposed to refill the water additive.
- Maintenance: ok this is the good part, it's very easy to clean (although you do have to take it apart with a pretty good chance to break those fragile plastic parts).
- Cost: Expensive, and requires purchase of water additive to keep it running. I thought it was kind of misleading in the advertising that made it look like you basically just have to rinse this thing from time to time and that would be it. Actually you need to purchase bottles of additive fluid to keep the water clean and the humidifier working properly. If they want to make money on the fluid they might as well make it less expensive (or at least improve the product)
It does work as advertised, the humidity level is just right, but the cheap construction/materials means I would not recommend it to any friend, mostly at this price.
