Author's Review

If any of you saw the first "Silly Sing-a-long" video, you probably laughed your heads off. For those of you who haven't seen it, you don't know what you're missing. The veggie duo that hosts the show, Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber, present a sing-a-long video so that all the kids watching can learn the words to these songs. The songs are funny, the veggies are funny, it's just all-around FUNNY!

While the first sing-a-long was hosted, "Silly Songs 2: The End of Silliness?" is put in the form of a story. It begins when Larry is drinking milkshakes and crying at a very Edward Hopper-ish looking diner. (Hopper is a 20th century artist, by the way. He's really quite good, but that has little to do with anything here.) Anyhow, Larry was upset and the gourd working the counter wanted to see what was wrong with him.

"Here's something to cheer you up, mister." The gourd turns on the video-jukebox for Larry to listen. Larry starts crying even more. The reason he was upset is that his "Silly Songs," the funny songs in each VeggieTales video, were deemed "too silly" by Archibald Asparagus, and the gourd had just played one of Larry's silly songs?

So who walks into the diner then? None other than Archibald himself! What happens? Who replaces Larry's slot on the show? What is the fate of the Silly Songs? Can you keep up with the songs and sing along? You'll just have to watch and find out! It's a great video for children and adults alike! Easy to understand for kids, and some jokes that parents will understand that go right over the young one's heads! (Don't worry, nothing inappropriate here- it's a kid's Christian cartoon!)And be sure to look out for the newest song on the video, "The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps"!
