Bloody good game!

by   daninmotion ,  Jul 1, 2005
Pros: Awesome storyline, gameplay, and graphics! Great re-playability factor.
Cons: Steep system requirements. You must have a fast PC and a good 3-D card.
The Bottom Line: This is a great game because it features the best elements of the RPG genre and the 3-D shoot 'em genres combined!
Review: This is the sequel to "Vampire: The Masquerade" and it was built on the "Half-Life 2" 3-D game engine. It's an RPG (Role-Playing Game) with all the action game elements built right in! You play a newly "embraced" vampire in the Los Angeles area who ...

Twice Bitten, None the Shier

by   mickp ,  Feb 16, 2005
Pros: Lovely graphics and sound. Enjoyable gameplay. A variety of abilities and stats
Cons: Loading times. Too much FPS, not enough RPG. Some abilities dominate.
The Bottom Line: Not quite an all time classic, but a beautiful and enjoyable vampire RPG, only let down by a few minor niggles and too much genre-creep into the FPS world
Review: I was a big fan of the Activision's sleeper hit Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption when it arrived a few years ago, so you can imagine my excitement when I heard a new version was in the works in the form of Vampire the Masquerade: ...

System Requirements: 6gigs of Patience

by   bloodfyr ,  Dec 6, 2004
Pros: Engrossing story, excellent RPG elements, very atmospheric
Cons: FPS elements, technical glitches, loading times
The Bottom Line: If you have patience, and want something that's different, then what are you waiting for?
Review: I have no patience when it comes to video games. My friends can attest to that. No matter how interesting the concept, if a game suffers in the execution because of technical glitches that are so bad that they make the game almost unplayable...well then ...

Stealing blood has never been so fun, for me.

by   patkingsley ,  Nov 21, 2004
Pros: Storyline, Graphics, Voice Acting, Dialogs, RPG Elements and Complexity.
Cons: Technical Issues, FPS elements, Firearms
The Bottom Line: If you are an RPG fan, buy it as you will love the design and gameplay. FPS fans disregard and buy HL2; Bloodlines is not an FPS.
Review: Vampires: Bloodlines has an incredible premise, being able to participate in an undead underground and choose which kind of character you wish to be, one still in contact with his humane side or one more influenced by the beast inside it. Features ...

Great Game but...

by   Archaron ,  Dec 28, 2004
Pros: Great Graphics, some memorable moments
Cons: Plot lacked depth and characters a little one dimensional
Review: Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines was a good game, but it lacked depth in the plot that the first one in the series had. Don't get me wrong the game has great graphics and some memorable moments. I just thought it was going to be better than it turned ...

Vampire: The Missed Opportunity

by   Action_Snark ,  Apr 5, 2005
Pros: Excellent, engrossing plot.
Cons: Buggy, poorly optimized
The Bottom Line: An excellent story saddled with an unfortunately buggy and unopitimized implementation.
Review: Well, after going on an epic FPS kick spanning everything from CS:Source to UT2k4 to Call of Duty and back again, I wound up with carpal tunnel in my trigger finger, the habit of strafing around corners in real life, and making berserk crowbar assaults ...

Doesn't quite make the bite...

by   cdrikari ,  Mar 13, 2005
Pros: Very pretty. Good Source engine use. Interesting plot and characters. End combat fun. Multiple endings.
Cons: Long load times, very high hardware demand, frustrating combat system. Useless abilities.
The Bottom Line: If you liked the first one, get it. Read a FAQ so you know where to put EXP for a much better experience. Don't play a Nosferatu the first time.
Review: Yeah. Well. It's a Vampire game. What do you want? Pros: Done with the Source Engine. If you have a decently speedy computer, you will get to see some nice facial effects, realistic physics and well, unlike Half-Life 2, VTM is pretty fond of ...

This could have been one of the greatest games ever made, but its not.

by   fnordiscordia ,  Apr 14, 2005
Pros: -Immersive gameplay -Interesting characters -Good plot -
Cons: -Very bad animation -Crippling bugs -Low quality
The Bottom Line: Could have been an amazing game but thanks to low production quality its only a mediocre game.
Review: So I wasn't sure what to make of this game when I heard they were making another one of these. I loved the story line (hated the dialogue) of the last one but I wasn't a big fan of the point and click style. Then I heard it was going to be a combination ...
