Author's Review
I was in India when I had my baby and began searching online for a great stroller. I had it sent to friends in the US and they brought it over with them. After a huge amount of online research, I decided this was the best I could find and am I glad I did. I have seen and tried few strollers that compare.
It is VERY big and heavy, yet somehow that doesn't matter cuz its good points outweigh the bad. Also, it does not have a cup holder, however the website I bought mine from (strollermama.com) gave one for free, though its not great. I bought a jolly jumper thing that is great.
It steers through snow, sand, dirt, and ice like a dream because of its tri-mode steering. You can easily switch from swivel-wheel to straight wheel or a 45 degree swivel. I originally had India in mind when I bought it and was thinking dust and potholes, so I thought the suspension would be great. However we have since moved to Canada, and now I realize few other strollers would make it through a Canadian winter. We walk everywhere, even in blizzards and this stroller has been a God-send. Our 24 month old is snug and warm inside with the rain-cover on (which also came free from our website). I also bought the optional sun-cover which did work great, however beware that both the sun and rain covers fit snuggly around the triangular bottom of the stroller, so now that our 24 month olds feet have come to the bottom, the covers do not fit snug. With the rain cover, it is okay, but the sun-cover only works well if it is stretched, so it may not work this summer.
It reclines nearly to 170 degrees, so she sleeps very easily in it--infact falls asleep almost every time she is in it! And there is plenty of room and padding, so she is always comfortable. There is no child tray or cup-holder, but this has never been an issue. I keep her cup or she holds it.
The bottom basket is nice and large and I put a TON of weight in it at times with up to 30-40 pounds of cans and such of groceries. It has a zipper for easy access when the seat is reclined, though I have never used this as it does not open wide.
The hood is very large and covers well. The hood can also be unsnapped in two places and moved forward right down to the bar across the child! This gives full-coverage when sleeping with a bright low sun. I like that the area where the childs feet lie is metal, so it does not get dirty. And the material used in the stroller is very high quality.
i will definitely try out the 2nd child attachments when I have more children, though I have read that the upper seat attachment makes it top-heavy, but I won't know until I try it.
The only downfall it is size when folded, though I have never found a sedan whose trunk will not take it. And the wheels can be removed very easily, but who wants to do that. It is very heavy to lift in and out of a car a lot. In a mini-van it does not fit easily behind the rear seat depending on the size in the rear, and I'm sure it would not fit in a hatch-back.
The handle raises up and down according to height. My husband and I both use it right in the middle height.
My daughter loves riding in her personal limo and we constantly get comments on how beautiful it is. After having a beautiful 3-wheeler like this, I could never go to a 4-wheeler. Though I do certainly suggest a lightweight 4-wheeler for airports, buses, and such. Though I take my big Valco out as much as possible--even on the subway, buses, to malls and you name it. I've never had a problem with its size yet in Canada or in India and even take it up and down escalators all the time.
It also has a removable (zip on zip off) matching bag on the back for mom or dad. It can hang on the handle bars or zip right onto the stroller material. When zipped off, it reveals mesh underneath. Of course there is a peek-a-boo top for mom and baby to see each other.
My husband wishes there were breaks on the handlebars, but I don't miss a feature like that since we aren't using it for jogging.
It also comes with a free tire-pump which we use every 2 or 3 months to fill the air. We use the stroller daily for all daily needs in and out of doors and love it like crazy. Just don't use it in an airport or it will be damaged. Our breaks were broken, but we fixed them easily by ourselves.
This stroller is ideal from newborn to any age of toddler. I see myself using it for several more children. Mine is now nearly 2 years old and has had daily usage in all weather conditions (the blizzards of Canada and the monsoons of India) and still looks brand new. It also comes with a free matching head hugger for infants.
I will always sing the praises of this stroller and would never hesitate to buy a second if this one was ever stolen or damaged.
