Huh????

Just a quick review on this one. I am absolutely shocked at the reviews here! I guess I was lucky and got one of the "good" ones. I have had this phone since November 2004 and used it for both home, and a home-based business. I bought it because the price was right at about $40 on sale at Target, and I liked the features: handset to handset calling, phone finder, 2 handsets, headset compatible which I needed for my business but also found helpful at home too. I use both handsets, using one while charging the other and switching so I always have a phone that's charged. I use the volume control a lot and it works great. The answering machine is very basic, but I didn't need anything fancy there.

I have never had problems with static even when using the microwave while talking. My only complaint is it's hard to read the caller ID. The backlight is not bright enough and I can't set the contrast high enough for it to be clear all the time. Also the backlight does not stay on long enough and there's no setting to change it. This has been a great phone! It just started giving out about 6 months ago and I think the batteries just need to be replaced~I'm still using the ORIGINAL batteries that came with the phone!

I'm wondering if they reduced the quality of this phone since the negative reviews seem to be in 2005-2006 and I bought mine in 2004??? On the bottom of my phone along with the model # above is a bar code with the following: A140379377. Since I was thinking of buying another phone just like this instead of replacing the batteries please let me know if your numbers are different and if you know what they mean.
