A Very Good Cordless Phone

The Bottom Line: If you want a versatile and durable cordless phone, that can double as a walkie/talkie for safety concerns, you can't do better than the Uniden CLX485.

Uniden is usually good, but read on

The Bottom Line: Good features, but distance and battery time are not very good at all. I would take it back to the store, but it's been to long. Breaks after short time.

Great phone if you have a small house!

The Bottom Line: Don't buy this phone if you have a multilevel home or plan to take the handset outside!
Review: I've only owned this phone for 3 months or so. It has all the bells and whistles. I absolutely love the fact that I can check my messages from any handset as well as program all handsets together rather than inputting all the contacts one by one...

Review: Did a lot of research before buying a replacement for my old uniden which finally curled up its toes after years of non-stop personal and home business use.
Learned to avoid Vtech phones (battery issues)and the other phones I tried (GE & ATT)...

Terrible service from Uniden

The Bottom Line: Do not buy ANY Uniden product. If they cannot repair a product after warranty is out, how can you consider buying it at all?
Review: I bought a CLX485 phone a year and a half ago. It died completely. After spending many hours, several weeks and $60 to the phone company, I found that the phone had died completely. Uniden will NOT repair it. If it is out of warranty, they will not...

The Bottom Line: Get this phone. You know why? Because as I explained above, every other phone out there is lacking some feature, the CLX485 is the only complete system.
Review: OK people, there's no other 5.8 GHz phone out there that has all the required features like the clx485. Here's what I'm talking about:
1. answering machine.
2. speaker phone in base and handset.
3. base dial key-pad.

Review: I have had this phone for close to three years, in that time I have had to replace the battery three times. Very poor battery life, the batteries from Uniden are expensive, recommend EBAY or batteries.com
