Would get a different DECT next time

I bought this Uniden system without researching and will never do that again. The phone is great, but I contribute that to the DEST and the 1.9GHz technology.

How could Uniden sell a phone system WITHOUT a jack for a wired earpiece??? I'm on the phone a great deal for business and am tired of having to use the speakerphone option. My last Uniden system had a jack!!!!!

I politely wrote to Uniden to ask if there was a solution to my problem and they (in a curt manner) said that I should buy another Uniden model. Hey, I just spent $125 for THIS system!!! That's not an answer. In any event, I will go elsewhere the next time I'm looking - but I will absolutely stick with DEST!!

Also, the answering machine portion was designed poorly. My last Uniden system allowed you to turn on a blinking light to indicate that a call came in. This system uses a beep and it is absolutely annoying. You can shut it off, then you don't know if you've received calls.

I think the system was designed in Europe. The answering machine has a female British voice that cannot be overridden. I don't have a problem with the voice per se - just an observation.
