Hilarious!!!!

When I saw previews for this movie, I wrote it off immediately and didn't see it in the theatres. Two years later, a friend lent the DVD to me, and I couldn't believe what I missed. This is seriously one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time.

Quickie Plot Synopsis: Undercover Brother (played by Eddie Griffin), content to wile away his time as a funkified Robin Hood of the ghetto, is recruited into "The Brotherhood," an underground organization intent on defeating "The Man" (literally, a man). Undercover Brother, who takes blaxploitation couture to new heights of hilarity, must lead an espionage squad to undermine The Man's latest scheme: subduing African Americans through serum-laced fried chicken. Intent on foiling Undercover Brother's mission are The Man's lackey, Chris Kattan, and The Man's ultimate weapon: White She Devil (played by Denise Richards). The adventures and misadventures that follow give the audience a quick-paced comedy full of one-liners that play on blaxploitation flicks, culture clashes, and the black man's abhorrence of mayonnaise.

This movie is a refresher from the comedies that have been in vogue for the last 7 years- comedies that center completely around gross-out humor, fat jokes, and played out physical comedy, and leave nothing to the script. It was funny at first (Something About Mary, Austin Powers), but after so many years of it I've become totally bored with this type of comedy. By contrast, Undercover Brother centers around clever cultural satire and, most importantly, a great script (some of the lines come at you so quickly and so often you miss the joke until 15 seconds later, and you're like, "Did he just say what I think he said?!").

I do agree with the review who said this movie is one long inside joke- if you're not familiar with African American culture/recent history, you probably will miss a lot of the quips, although the movie will still be fun.
