Twisted Metal 4 is my far the greatest Twisted Metal released! There is so much more then part 3. TM4 even has a create a car mode! However its not really good. The levels are much bigger, there are much more cars, and much more weapons.
StoryLine: Like all other TM's you battle in a big tournament called Twisted Metal using armed and dangerous cars. However there is one difference in the tournament this time..............Calypso(the tournament owner) has been kicked out of his throne. The new owner is none other then Sweet Tooth! Well Calypso is now a playable character and he wants to get his hands on Sweet Tooth. This is going to be the most destructive Twisted Metal Tournament ever!
Tournament: In this mode you will battle in 8 stages. Each of them big, different, challenging, and with a boos at the end. Once you beat this mode you will beable to play as all the bosses from the levels. Another very cool feature that TM4 has that the other TM's did'nt have is the option to save your progress in the Tournament! This is very helpful even though there are only 8 levels.
Death Match: The Death Match is where you can choose the stage you fight at, and choose how many opponets are in the battle. There are 3 stages that can only be played in the Death Match mode. This is basiclly the 2 player mode, put its also fun for 1 player.
Create a car Mode: Well this is a pretty cool feature, however there is not much to it. First you can choose the cars size. Theres small, medium, and large. Next you can choose the the design of the car, theres only 3 designs though. Then you get to choose the paint job. Again there is only 3 paint jobs. Next you choose the name. After you choose the special, there are only 4 selectible specials. Finally you can choose what the car says when you fire the special. Also you can create a maximum of 30 cars!
GamePlay: Not to bad game play, I'am guessing running at between 20 and 32 frames of animation. I dont know to much about frames of animation so I may be wroung. One noticible mess up in the gameplay is when your about to fall off a building and if your trying to hang on, you'll see your car be stuck inside the roof of the building. This will end when you let go of the gas.
Graphics: The graphics, well they are not the best, but not the worst. The walls look kinda blocky upclose. The explosions look better then part 3, 2, and 1, however there still not perfect. The missles and stuff flying around look good. The game has a good polygon count, however its just the walls when you get up close.
Voice, Sound, & Music: The voice is clear and easy to hear. The only voice is in the begining intro and a very little bit while playing the game. The game has really good sound. The explosions, the machine guns shooting, car clashing, and verything sounds really good. Now for the music...........I LOVE the music!!! Just like the music in TW3, the ingame play features some music from Rob Zombie! If you dont know what kind of music he plays, its Rock! The music is really good, and it fits the game.
Final Comments: Twisted Metal 4 is a REALLY good car battle game. I think its the best on Playstation. I would highly recommend TW4 to anyone who liked a previous Twisted Metal, car battle games, or just looking for a fun battle game on Playstation.
