Pros: Engaging story, good character development, not too heavy on the liasons; suspenseful
Cons: Lying, sneaking around, physicality between the main characters, improper use of medication
The Bottom Line:
While Twilight is rated for 9th grade and up, you might find your preteen wanting to read it. Check my review for recommendations! This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: As a busy mom of two preteens (10 and 12), I entered the Twilight zone later than most. A young co-worker of mine suggested that my daughter might want to read the popular Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer when she reached middle school age...

Pros: Interesting story and characters; well written YA book
Cons: Very slow until the end
The Bottom Line: The bottom line is wishing it knew a moral vampire to be friends with.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: At the beginning of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight, Isabella Swan has just moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington, one of the rainiest places in the country, in order to give her mother more time with her new husband. Bella knows...

Pros: Well-written, smooth plot that draws the reader in and keeps them there.
Cons: The book ends.
The Bottom Line: Twilight is a great read that you won't soon forget.

Review: A few weeks ago I noticed that my fifteen-year-old daughter had abandoned her computer and was buried in a book. Now, this is not completely unusual as she does go through spells of voracious reading (a trait she inherited from me). Still, it was...

Review: I enjoy reading teen/young adult novels because for me, it sort of puts my life in perspective. Also, I want to know what my kids are reading and what their friends are reading. The best discussions for me are talking to my kids about books and the...

Review: I rarely buy books, but when I saw this book, I was wondering if this was the book I had heard so much about. Indeed, it turns out it is a book that I have heard so many rave reviews of, and is part of a series of books (currently there are 4...

Cons: Slow pace for majority of the book.
The Bottom Line: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer was entertaining for the most part, but I did feel like it had a few issues.

Review: I can't remember when I first heard something about Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, a young adult vampire book. I know that I have been hearing more about it for the last year or so and while I was sort of interested, I hadn't picked up...

Pros: Well researched; deep emotional content.
Cons: I was so not the target audience
The Bottom Line:
In the final analysis my instinct to stay away from Twilight were well justified. But my daughter love it! This reviewer recommends this product.

Pros: Marlowe or Shakespeare might have launched a masterpiece based on this text. Original cross-cultural slants.
Cons: Occasional inconsistencies in perspective. A fable wordier by far than any by Aesop.
The Bottom Line: Tired of serious hard reading into science, philosophy or history? Then relax before falling asleep with conscience-driven vampires. TWILIGHT is gothic, romantic, scary and cross-cultural as all get out.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: TWILIGHT is the 2005 "debut" novel of Stephenie (sic!) Meyer, one time Brigham Young University English major and since married mother of three, living in Arizona.
The following text from the novel's close may explain why the tale is called... |

Pros: Easy to read and understand, gets very exciting...halfway through
Cons: Predictable, sappy, your basic unrealistic teen love story
The Bottom Line: I wanted so much more from this. And yet, I couldn't set it down. And yet...it wasn't that great.

Pros: intriguing story, good character development, interesting human/vampire relationship
Cons: runs tediously slow in a few spots
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this enjoyable vampire lore/love story. It's a good read - most all 500 pages of it.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Twilight, being the second book I have read by Stephenie Meyer - the first being New Moon, the sequel to Twilight - was a little disappointing for me; it seemed to have a bit of trouble progressing and moved comparably slower...
