Author's Review
The Tuesday Music Club put Sheryl Crow on the map as a serious singer songwriter, and garnered her several Grammy wins in 1995. This launched her career, coincidentally pre-Lillith, and started the new wave of women in rock.
Sure, "All I Wanna Do" is a fun little tune, Crow admits that was the throw way track of the CD. The other tracks are much more relevant. The tone of "Club" is quite somber, the tracks "I Shall Believe" and "No One Said It Would Be easy" attest to that. Crow's bouts with depression are well documented and her lyrics come from a place inside her that are honest and real. "Leaving Las Vegas" has a bluesy feel, while "What I Can Do for You" is a more upbeat, a catchy tune. Crow's voice and lyrics together carry the album and made her an instant star after years of being backup singer to Don Henley and others.
All in all the CD tells a story, and Crow gives of herself and with a raw talent and feeling. The "Na Na song", is the real throw away track in my epinion. The rest are pure gold.
