Author's Review
"Tuesday Night Music Club" is the 1993 smash debut from one of today's best singers, Sheryl Crow. This album seems to have everything shoved into the 11 tracks, from poppish beats to slow, mellow songs. I fell in love with this album the first day I got it because I realized it was one of those classic solo albums that will pave the way for a musicians career. This could not be truer than in the case of Sheryl Crow, because this album shot her into the spot-light, and she has yet to go away, which is a wonderful thing.
"Tuesday Night Music Club" contains 11 of the best songs Sheryl Crow has yet to produce, and this album has set all the expectations for her to live up to. "Run Baby Run" is the first track off this album, and a great song. It is slow paced, and extremely mellow. This is a wonderful song to pick for the opening of this album, because it is one of the best. "Leaving Las Vegas" is the second song off this album, and one of my favorites because the chorus is absolutely addicting in my opinion. This is one of the songs I can listen to on repeat for several hours without the slightest hint of boredom.
"Strong Enough" is the third song on the album, and one of the popular singles produced by this album. Some of the lyrics in this song are able to pull the heart strings in many people including myself, "Lie to me, I promise I'll believe. Lie to me, but please don't leave." Those few words of the chorus, are just beautiful and able to cause emotional attachment with the listener. "Can't Cry Anymore" is the fourth song off this album, and just mind blowing. The song itself is not extremely fast paced but the beat just makes you want to tap your foot, and sing along. I love songs that do that, because I am one of the people that sing stupidly in front of the mirror.
"Solidify" is the fifth song off the album, and sort of strange in my opinion. The beat to the song, sounds like something that should have been from the eighties, but seems to fit perfectly with Sheryl at the same time. "All I Wanna Do" is the ninth song off the album, and the first smash single for Sheryl Crow. This song explains my attitude towards life perfectly, I mean "All I wanna do is have some fun," is me. I know that I'm not the only person that just gets this connection with this song, because I know several other people that just want to have fun, and not worry about the troubles. That's what I get from this song, so it will always remain one of my favorites.
I would recommend this album to anyone, because Sheryl Crow seems to be one of those universal singers that almost anyone can enjoy. Sheryl Crow would also be good for a person that loves Lilith Fair and all the artists involved, because Sheryl has been the co-headliner for almost the entire time Lilith Fair went on. "Tuesday Night Music Club" is just sensational, and I would tell anyone that doesn't have it to get it right away, or miss out on a great musical experience.
