Great idea, bad execution.

I really wanted this cute little player to work out... Unfortunately the first unit I purchased at Fry's would crash at unexpected times even though it was fully charged and only had about 32mb of downloads in it's 512mb memory (approx. 498mb useable). I purchased another one and this time it froze upon downloading files to my computer.
The color screen has noticeable banding running vertically across the screen and the included headphones are not great at sound reproduction. The EQ is a nice feature but even in custom mode I could never get a great sound out of this unit. On the good side- battery life was about 10-12 hrs depending on application and the case and armband were of very good quality and fit. It is easy to navigate and all menus are logical in layout. Note of caution- the voice recorder is only usable for speaking directly into the unit. I tried to use it for three days at a conference and although I had no problems getting the files to record and save, the unit in a lecture situation performed very poorly (low audio). I am switching to a Samsung Yepp YP-T7Z (1gb) which is similar in features and form factor, hopefully it will be more reliable.
