Pros:
Multiple endings, multiple game modes, funny character
Cons:
Not challenging (beat in less than 15 hours), incoherent storyline
The Bottom Line:
A blockbuster rental because it is too easy to beat. The storyline is average but the character does make some funny jokes.

Author's Review
This game is about a elite cop Nick Kang who investigates his father's murder. His father was also a cop and word on the street was that he was setup. This game has multiple endings so if you fail a mission you can choose to redo it or accept the consequences. Needless to say you will only get the best ending if you successfully complete all the missions.
This game has multiple play modes: open, driving, fighting (fists), shooting and sneaking around. Each mission consists of episodes revolving around these modes.
OPEN MODE
In the open mode you can roam L.A. and solve street crimes which increase your cop rating and gain a shield. You can also do the opposite and shoot people, steal cars etc. which lower the rating. It is up to you what type of cop you want to be. There are petty crimes such as street fights, street racing and more serious ones such as drug busts etc. Usually with the petty crimes you can flash your badge, fire a warning shot and they will give up. In the more serious crimes draw your gun and get ready to kick some butt! In this mode you can also train to increase your shooting, fighting and driving capabilities. It costs a shield to train so it pays to be a good cop.
DRIVING MODE
In the driving mode you have to either tail somebody unsuspected or get to a location in a certain amount of time. You drive through the actual streets of L.A. Don't worry if you don't know L.A. that well, there is a radar and you can use it to find the destination. You can either drive your cop car or steal a car. The cop car has the advantage that you can a police siren, when you turn it on cars yield to you. There are quite a few different types cars in this world such as a sports cars (Ferrari, Porshe), SUVs, luxury, taxis, trucks etc.
FIGHTING MODE
In the fighting mode you use a variety of punches, kicks and grappling moves to take down some bad guys. You can also pick up weapons such as knives, sai, swords etc. There aren't too many button combinations so this mode is fairly limited. You can get away with just tapping the buttons randomly to defeat most opponents. Each opponent has a stun meter. If you hit the opponent with enough consecutive hits you stun him. Then you can apply a grappling move. The grappling moves put a lot more damage on your opponent and you can train for new ones.
SHOOTING MODE
In the shooting mode you use a variety of guns such as pistol, shotgun, semi-automatics and machine guns to deliver lead sandwiches. Nick can shoot with two hands so it is double the pleasure. There is an auto aim and a manual aim. The manual aim is a zoomed view which happens in slow motion. It is a bit slow to initiate since you have to hold on to the right trigger to start it. In the meantime the bad guys are still shooting. You can also jump and shoot in slow motion which is really useful around corners. Another move is backing up against a wall on a corner and popping out. You can train to get skills such as faster reload and better targeting.
SNEAKING AROUND
In this mode you are usually infiltrating a building. The goal is to not be detected. You can use stun darts and attacks to knock out your opponents. You also have to watch out for bumping into objects that may alert the opponent. Personally I hated this mode because it gave me heart attacks. However it isn't that difficult since the characters turn their back to you for quite a while. Even if you are detected, you have about two seconds to knock him out before he alerts the crew.
