Author's Review
We purchased this DVD player for use in our van while traveling with children. We needed something small to attach to the van's seats to entertain the kids.
The size, features and cost made us purchase the unit.
The player is easy to use. We needed to purchase a separate mobile kit to allow for use in the van. We expected this, so it isn't a drawback.
The player has been able to play all commercial discs, as well as discs burned on both our computer and home deck. It handled all formats easily.
The supplied Lithium Ion batter was good for about 2 hours of play.
Regrettably, the unit's internal charging or the battery has given up after about 1.5 years of very light use. As such, it must be constantly connected to the AC or mobile adaptor in order to use it. I haven't tried to acquire another battery, so I'm not sure how easy it is to get replacements.
Considering it is a DVD player, it is easy to use. The remote does not include a volume control, which can be awkward while traveling, as we must reach for the volume on the unit itself. With a little thought, we can pre-set the volume and go on our way. The volume is sufficient to cover road noise and conversation in the vehicle.
The unit will support widescreen video and automatically "stretch" normal video to cover the screen. The stretching effect does not distort the picture. If you prefer, normal screen settings can be selected.
As a CD player, it has all the typical functions, including options to select playlists, so it keeps the kids bedtime music going while on vacation also.
All in all a decent unit. Other than the battery issues, I can say it is a nice player for the price.
