Very good dependable vehicle

The Bottom Line: One of the most dependable and reliable vehicles I have owned. A nice roomy vehicle that has been great for long car trips with the family.
This is just a really good vehicle. I purchased this car new it now has 84000 miles on it and I have never had any serious problems with it whatsoever. The only expenses I have put into it are routine maintenance.
It has surprisingly good pick up for a vehicle as large as it is and the engine does not struggle to accelerate. The handling and braking are also excellent. Although, it did go through the rotors on the brakes fairly quickly. My mechanic told me that he has experienced a lot of 4 Runners with brake issues. I know other people with them who have not had the problem so I am more apt to think it is probably just my hard braking.
The interior of the vehicle is roomy enough for my family of four to all fit comfortably in. I do not have the third row seat, but I cannot see that there would be any storage space at all if it was installed. The cup holders are convenient and plentiful. It would be nice to have more than one cigarette lighter for all the different things we like to plug into it for long car trips, but this problem is easily corrected with a small purchase at your local electronics store, and is not a real issue. The ride inside the vehicle is also nice and quiet, especially compared to the Jeep Wrangler that I owned before this.
I get between 17 and 22 mpg which is not the best, but I think that compares well with other cars in its class.
Overall this is a very dependable and fun car to own. It is great driving around the corner to the store or on a long road trip with the kids.
