by   charles ,  Nov 10, 2002
Pros: Longer and wider; 8 passengers and cargo; base and limited edition; V-8
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: Toyota offers the Sequoia to large families who want to drive in style. The company knows how to provide value, reliability and luxury.
Review: If you are looking for visibility and presence on the road, Toyota gives them to you with the 2003 Toyota Sequoia. It can haul more than 5,000 pounds of passengers and cargo. All of your hauling needs are met all of a sudden. Just for your...

Need a 6000 lb Vehicle? This is it.

by   traveler1959 ,  Jul 14, 2003
Pros: Very quiet vehicle, drives like a car
Cons: Terrible gas mileage, some "bells and whistles" missing
The Bottom Line: Get one! They're great, especially if you want something over the 6000 lb. weight limit.

Owner Review 2003 Sequoia

by   Keb ,  Sep 7, 2003
Pros: Comfort and Gas Mileage given the size.
Cons: Rear view slightly limited. Need one 12v outlet ON with key off for the cooler.
The Bottom Line: Drive one after checking on the Tahoe or GMC's. Look at Toyota reliability and resale value.
Review: We drive frequently from the North Seattle area to Western Colorado. Our vehicles have been 4WDs from an 86 Audi Quattro to a 97 4-Runner, a Chev 2500 6.5 Turbo Diesel, two Grand Cherokees ( 99 and 02), and now a new Sequoia SR5. Without a doubt, the T ...

Sequoia a great Japanese refinement of large American SUV's

by   johnandmonika ,  Aug 17, 2003
Pros: Quiet, smooth, comfortable, reliable, interior ergonomics, handling, power, braking smoothness, steering, seating design, comfort overall
Cons: Gas mileage (though could be worse), price
The Bottom Line: If you can afford it, this is the best family hauler on the market today. A joy to drive and travel in, with fewer faults than its competitors.
Review: For years the American car companies had the mega SUV market pretty much to themselves. Toyota's la ...

Big, Fast and Comfortable

by   stan-the-man ,  Nov 26, 2003
Pros: Engine, Cabin Space, Ride
Cons: Funky smell, Gas milage
The Bottom Line: If you want reliability and a ton of room this is a good choice in my opinion.
Review: I have a tacoma and we needed something big for long trips since the birth of the baby. I thought about the big 3 for a second, but I know better. I have owned a dodge and a ford with too many headaches. There are a few things I would change about ...

Best of the SUV's

by   travel202 ,  Apr 15, 2003
Pros: Most Comfortable of the SUV's, Roomy, Feature rich, Toyota reliability, Great on long trips
Cons: Very high vehicle giving rise to problems in parking garages
The Bottom Line: Move up and enjoy the experience
Review: Having best an Explorer owner three times over the past 12 years, the Sequoia is worlds ahead in the areas of comfort, luxury, it's many features, it's feeling to drive, it's large interior and the quality of the workmanship. It is supported by a vast...

Big rig for everyone but the driver.

by   bkmurf ,  Oct 20, 2003
Pros: Toyota Quality, comfort.
Cons: Lack of driver leg room, relatively expensive
Review: My experience with Toyota is extensive. And every single vehicle of theirs I've owned has met or exceeded my expectations. The Sequoia is a hands down better vehicle than any of the competition from Ford or Chevy. It'll last twice as long with half (or ...

"She's a squirrel-squashin', deer-smackin' drivin' machine."

by   jumperless , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Jul 23, 2003
Pros: Space, Towing Capacity, Style
Cons: Bland Interior, Gas Mileage, Price, Unknown Reliability
The Bottom Line: Unlike many foreign SUVs, the American-built Sequoia does not offer much of a change from the many boxy, over-weight blue collar mobiles that come flooding from Detroit.
Review: Ack, 7AM is too early for a non-work day, but I’m not a morning person. Some people, like my uncle, can get up at 4:30AM, go to the gym, shower and be ready for work by 7AM. I’ve resolved that there’s just something wrong with people like th ...

This is not a soccer mom car.

by   mehere ,  Nov 13, 2003
Pros: Good crash-worthy vehicle, remarkable traction, great gas mileage for its size. ULEV is nice.
Cons: Appears to have been built by Chrysler. Must be purchased from a Toyota Dealer.
The Bottom Line: If you but it and have problems, Toyota has demonstrated they have no problem telling customers to shove off if Toyota doesn't want to cover problems with the car.
Review: I'm not sure who was writing the rave reviews for the Sequoia when I was looking to buy. It's definitely not what it was billed as. Perhaps all the raving was done by people on Toyota's payroll? The specifics: Any interaction with a Toyota ...
