Author's Review
The Toyota Tacoma offers everything from comfort and safety to power and reliability. Toyotas are some of the most reliable vehicles on the road today and the Tacoma is even tougher. This is just more than an "A" to "B" truck; this will take you all the way to "Z" and back!
I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma with about 85,000 miles on it and I have never had any problems with it. The only shop work I have had to get on my truck was to change the oil! My grandfather has owned a Toyota for over 15 years and has never had any problems. The Toyota is long lasting and tough! I was rear-ended by a car going almost 20 miles per hour and when I took it into the shop, there was absolutely nothing wrong whereas the car that rear ended me was completely wrecked.
Before I owned my Toyota, I owned two other trucks from two different companies. They were good trucks but always needed some kind of work. My grandfather continued to urge me to buy a Toyota and it was one of the best investments I ever made. I bought a brand new, 2001 White Tacoma for about $16,400.
One of the things I love the most about the Toyota Tacoma is I can take it anywhere! I enjoy playing many sports and doing different activities and my Toyota gets me everywhere I need to be. Whether it is snow boarding, fishing or camping, the Toyota will get you and two other people safely and comfortably while being able to carry all of the necessary gear in the back.
It has a very comfortable cab with room for 3 adults comfortably. It has very nice steering that's not too tight nor is it loose. It handles very nicely and makes turns easily. When driving, it is always smooth and quiet, even on the freeways. It's a relatively small truck so it's perfect for any parking space.
Although it only has a V-4 engine, the Tacoma is an incredibly powerful truck! When I was putting rock in my front yard, my Toyota was able to haul over 2000 pounds of rock in the back like it was nothing. The only downside to this truck, as well as just about every truck, is it's low gas mileage. On average, I get about 14-15 miles per gallon on the streets and it holds about 16 gallons. But the amount you save from having it taken to the shop more than makes up for the gas mileage.
Overall, the Toyota Tacoma is one of the most reliable and safe trucks on the road today.
