ONE-HUNDRED TWELVE THOUSAND GRINNING MILES..UPDATE NUMBER FIVE!!!!!!!!

by   tomsat ,  Oct 23, 1999
Pros: ooh so comfortable-V8 goes like rocket-tranny shifts FIRM like it should
Cons: 17 MPG, everyone wants to race to find out what they already suspect.. it's fast!
The Bottom Line: Don't be scared...take a test drive ok..It's made in USA by US workers and contains as many US parts than other trucks too.. make your own decision..
Review: I USED TO BE a GM and Ford Flat-Rate Mechanic in a dual Dealership. I diagnosed and repaired driveability complaints, engine and transmission problems, electronic circuits and everything else in between... I wanted a new full-size truck, but ...

Ford and Chevy who??

by   BrianCam , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Jan 19, 2000
Pros: V-8 with Toyota reliability, roomy, versatile, SUPER SMOOTH
Cons: Bland styling compared to others
Review: Toyota proves it can be done. Truck ruggedness and versatility with car-like smoothness. It's true, others have not gone far enough.

Styling is usually the first thing one notices about a car or truck, and I have to say this is the only...

I paid extra $$$$$ for mine, and darn glad I did!

by   tooluser_ ,  Nov 5, 2000
Pros: Looks good, drives great, quiet, Toyota quality.
Cons: Smaller than Ford-Chevy -- as if that matters. First production year brake glitch.
The Bottom Line: I like it a lot: stylish, quality construction. Pretty speedy too: 0-60mph in less than 8.0 sec. Easy to drive.
Review: (See 08/06/2005 update below.) I had several *thousand* reasons ($$$) to go with a Ford, but I chose the Toyota Tundra. Why? I will tell you here. I could have received several thousand dollars discount on a Ford truck -- Citibank Visa Ford dollars, ...

A Toyota-that pretty much sums it up.

by   ladman ,  Jun 20, 2004
Pros: It's a Toyota!, 32valve V8, reliable, higher in stock from that GM,Ford, and Dodge.
Cons: Not cheap, brakes could be better.
The Bottom Line: Why settle for less? Spend the money for a Toyota and get what you really want. Very nice truck and recommended.
Review: I really needed a 2nd car as my GS400 is currently kicking out 470hp and I place sometimes 200 miles a day on a vehicle. This plus the fact that every homeowner needs a truck for those Home Depot runs. It is sometimes difficult relying on a friend's ...

Toyota Tundra--How About Them Apples!

by   glacier ,  Jul 14, 2001
Pros: Great Power, Nice Package, Very quiet, Smooth Ride
Cons: Cost, Backseat Space, Driver Visibility
The Bottom Line: If driving a truck to you means stiff suspension, poor handling, considerable lean, and sluggish power, the Tundra is not for you.
Review: This is not a truck, it's a dream. I test drove a Tundra when I was looking at the Highlander a few months back (review to come). After emerging disappointed from that mini-suv, I told the salesman I wanted something large enough for four with good...

SR5 Tundra

by   wilber_93 ,  Oct 17, 2004
Pros: Great Truck...runs like a top, quiet, solid, fun.
Cons: keeps OPEC in business
The Bottom Line: If you want a truck you can't go wrong with a Tundra. Toyota quality, full sized fun.
Review: I've had the truck for about 3 years now. I only have about 32K on the truck but it hasn't had one issue to date. I love my truck! I was a life long ford guy at 29 (my dad has only had ford trucks since 77' and my grandfather was a ford...

2000 Toyota Fundra

by   larimer ,  Aug 23, 2000
Pros: Engine, Fit and Finish, 4X4,
Cons: Horn, Air Condition weak, Frt Seats need work for tall people
Review: About Me: My friends believe I am crazy because every time I saw them I have been talk about getting a truck. This went on for two years. After I decided that I “wanted” one (note: not “needed”) because I bought a house out in the country were 4 wheel...

Test Drive by a MOPAR man

by   kinger318 ,  Dec 2, 1999
Pros: size, underseat storage, excellent suspension
Cons: cramped back seat, only automatic trans. available with v8
Review: Being a MOPAR man, I usually don't have rave reviews of foreign vehicles. The new Toyota Tundra TRD has completely changed my mind. Though it doesn't feel like driving a full sized pickup, the Tundra offers everything a full size has and is much easier...

A Life Saver

by   acwilson ,  Apr 1, 2003
Pros: Quality Durability 5-Star Safety Rating Powerful
Cons: minor details-nothing you can't live with
The Bottom Line: The best quality, comfort, and safety $25,000 can buy.
Review: My family purchased a 2000 Toyota Tundra in November of 1999. For one of the first off the line there was very little wrong with it. Ours came very basic-2WD, bucket seats, premium wheels. We after-market added the towing hitch and the bed liner....

Yuppie Truck

by   Christoff ,  Aug 14, 2000
Pros: Silky Smooth Mutha
Cons: I don't have a pink slip to one
Review: My first experience with the Tundra, was at a Toyota "Ride & Drive". An event held to facilitate product knowledge. At it, I was able to drive the Tundra, the Silverado, the F-150, and the Ram 1500. We drove in the city and on an...
