Author's Review
You can't go wrong with this vehicle. I have the LE model with 4 cylinder engine. The vehicle has in excess of 225,000 miles and the doors close with a satisfying solid "chunk", there are no rattles, and it is as smooth as velvet starting, shifting and running. The upholstery is rip-free and all the controls work. The paint even looks good (this is a southern car -- the sun beats cars to death down here.)
Only current problem: A light is burned out in the dash behind the climate controls (and I'm too lazy to take the dash apart to fix it.)
During it's life, the car has had regular fluid changes (oil, tranny, antifreeze) and scheduled maintnence (timing belt, CV boots, etc) most of which can be done by the average home mechanic. This saves a bundle over dealer service rates. Even the oil filter is right in front and accessable from THE TOP of the motor!
To be sure I have spent a fair amount of time maintaining the car, but no more so than any other car I've owned, and this one has been much more reliable than any car I've ever owned.
I would happily buy another, but I just can't seem to wear this one out!
