I leased a 1987 Camry LE 4 cyl. at the end of 1986. I bought out the lease 5 years later because I LOVED the car. It has maintained a relatively smooth ride, good mileage, low maintenance expense. My only complaint was the muffler system which goes out regularly! After purchasing a "guaranteed for the life of the car" mufflers on my third one, my problem was solved! Short trips leave moisture in the unit and it rusts through. I am actively looking for a 2000 Camry as I now have 180,000 miles on this one with no major repair! I will never own another car!
