Honestly, couldn't recommend it

Although the corolla has enjoyed a good reputation, this one missed the mark. Not enough attention to interior detail. Some panels have visible rough edges and a "bolt cover" was missing from a kick panel. Engine is excessively noisy outside and doesn't seem to be as smooth revving as it should. Had an interior engine part break at or about the 100-200 mile mark. I was told by the mechanic there is has been a TSB on this for 2005-2007 models but none has yet been issued on the 2008. Haven't been able to achieve near the posted highway mpg. It is my understanding that the posted mpg figures should be more accurate than in the past due to changes in EPA testing variables. On the upside, the stereo sounds better than on other similar vehicles I test drove before buying this one. The seats are comfortable and able to be adjusted for a 6' plus driver.
