Do not hesitate even with older child--it works!

This is a wonderful product. I hesitated to purchase because it is not an inexpensive item and my son was 18 months old and big--off the charts for his age. I was concerned he would tear it apart to get out. But, he was climbing out of his crib and not take naps. We had to rock him to sleep every night so that he was asleep before going into the crib. We were desperate. It took about a week, maybe two, of him having to cry himself to sleep (each time was less and less) but eventually he did fall asleep on his own in his crib with the tent. Also, because of his size, his calves were getting stuck in the crib slats which would cause him to wake up in the middle of the night. The Crib Tent II, with the mesh inside, solved this problem as well. This is awesome. The installation was not too bad.
