How is this basic!?

Date of Review:  Dec 13, 2004
The Bottom Line: It really bothers me when people call this laptop a "basic" computer. It has tons of advanced features that are definitely not found on every model. Excellent buy.
Review: It is really amazing how people's perspectives change so fast. To be honest it kind of hurts my feelings when people call my new laptop a "basic" computer. True, technology these days develops faster than you can blink, but there has to be some...

Caution - Nice *basic* computer - but advertised product specifications are incorrect!

Date of Review:  Nov 25, 2004
The Bottom Line: Want basic portable computing, this might be it. Want to soup up the performance, do heavy graphics or gaming, it is not it. Do not buy expecting it as specified!
Review: Let the buyer beware! This may be a fine starter computer for light duty use, but it does not contain the specified L2 cache that would really boost performance when you add more memory. Had I known this before hand, I would not have bought this...

Good Starter

Date of Review:  May 26, 2005
The Bottom Line: It is a good buy based on overall quality and performance, just add memory.
Review: I do not need blazing speed, but a good basic computer to allow me to web surf, operate MS Office apps, play a few games, and manage video and pics. This fulfills these missions at a great price. The memory is inadaquate and performed poorly with...

Eh, it's a lap top.

Date of Review:  Oct 5, 2005
The Bottom Line: This is your basic computer. It doesn't work miracles, it doesn't make miracles, but it gets the job done (when it isn't breaking down) and it's fairly cheap.
Review: This is the first laptop I've ever bought myself. I got it less than a year ago, and chose it for it's price (It was 900 dollars at the time), screen size and DVD player (I bought it to sub in as a portable movie theater for plane and car rides.)...

Nice unreliable computer.

Date of Review:  May 10, 2005
The Bottom Line: Run to Dell, IBM or just away from this computer.
Review: The computer itself worked well for the first few weeks. The large screen is awesome for watching movies. I actually found the laptop on the large size for using on the go. It's a little large for lap use but fine for table top use. The wireless is...

Toshiba M35X-S149 Exceptional for the Price

Date of Review:  Jan 2, 2005
The Bottom Line: Excellent buy for the money. Best Buy and Comp USA have this unit for sale and I'd recommend it all the way.
Review: I reviewed and used the Dell Latitude 1000 and returned it for the Toshiba M35X-S149. Why? Becasue the Toshiba M35X-S149 has a larger screen, larger hard drive, internal wireless card, ieee link connection and far better battery life. Both units are...

m35x-s149

Date of Review:  Apr 21, 2005
Review: it's a nice laptop in its price range. graphics and memory leave much to be desired, but for $800USD or less, what can you expect? it's a great laptop for school, taking notes and surfing the net. 256mb of ram almost forces you to upgrade so i...

God Awful Machine

Date of Review:  Aug 23, 2005

Nice notebook for the money

Date of Review:  Dec 2, 2004
Review: Really nice notebook. The wide screen is clear and bright. I like the 60 gig HD which is larger than most in the same price range. Also the combo cdrw/dvd rom adds to the value added features of this notebook. Just about the only issue I have with...

These M35X Laptops are Junk!!!

Date of Review:  Mar 1, 2006
