by   pci_ht ,  Apr 5, 2006
Pros: Detailed crystal clear PQ w/inky blacks & sharper picture than many sets.
Cons: Very minor 'false contour' banding - like other digital HDTVs.
The Bottom Line: If you want an excellent 1080p PQ without taking out a 2nd or 3rd mortgage, then the Toshiba 56HM195 is the ticket.

The best DLP TV PERIOD dollar for dollar!

by   jerome33 ,  Feb 21, 2006
Pros: Easy to set up and use. Many inputs and built in digital tuner.
Cons: Could have been a bit more attractive. The digital media card inputs placed front.

Toshiba 56HM195 1080p excellent PQ with HD source

by   pavelow3 ,  Nov 11, 2005
Pros: PQ is excellent on HD feed. Speakers are below screen for space saving.
Cons: Poor PQ/color on Satellite standard digital. No custom colors other than Cool and Warm
The Bottom Line: Do not buy this sight unseen. Its PQ over satellite digital feed is pixilated. Picture is too dark. No custom colors.

by   notahappycust ,  Feb 17, 2008
Pros: Good picture quality, easy to use menus
Cons: Expensive to run, short bulb life, horrible customer support
The Bottom Line: After my experience with this TV and Toshiba's Customer Service I will never buy another Toshiba product again.

Excellent picture, questionable service life

by   tazzosu ,  Dec 30, 2005
Pros: Great picture, plenty of A/V inputs, HDMI connection
Cons: DLP bulb technology, warranty repair service
The Bottom Line: avoid DLP TVs, they might have great picture, but repairs are unavoidable, especially because they are designed this way
Review: DLP HDTVs look spectacular... when they work. I purchased the 56HM195 about two months ago and have it hooked up to digital satellite HDTV. The picture is pretty amazing. Much better than standard TV. But then just a few days ago, the TV stopped working. ...

Toshiba 56hm195

by   urcoverd ,  May 26, 2006
Pros: Takes up relatively little space due to the placement of the speakers below.
Cons: Defective out of the box and getting worse all of the time. Not recommended.
