Pros: Easy interface, Points of interest (speed camera warnings!), verbal instruction, automatically readjusts for wrong turns
Cons: Doesn't seem to take into account typical congestion areas, slow/inaccurate startup
The Bottom Line: While it is by no means necessary, if you are new to a big city or travel a lot it is a wonderful toy to have and makes driving easier.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I love this thing! We just moved to London and not only do I have to always drive on the other side of the road but I also have to be cognizant of one way streets and all these inane roundabouts that make it impossible for me to glance at a standard...

Pros: Excellent display
Clear instructions Intuitive Portability allows use in other cars Good value for money Cons: Poor audio instructions outside UK
The Bottom Line: I would definitely highly recommend the Tom Tom GO 720T as a good choice of car satnav
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I have owned this satnav for about ten months. I have used it successfully in the UK, France and Spain. A great advantage has been finding my way around local roads when arriving close to my destination as well as when departing an unfamiliar area...

Pros: Touch screen operation. RDS antenna traffic service. Eventually, bluethooth, maps addition etc.will payoff when needed
Cons: Price. When factoring$260+ for unit and $115+ for the RDS antenna it's quite pricetag.
The Bottom Line: The various functionalities that this product offers is a plus for any GPS and I would definitely recommend it.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I bought this GPS because you could add music or extra maps to an SD card and playt it wirelessly through your car speaker. I was very dissapointed with the static i got. It's possible that it could work differently in another vehicle. Another...

Pros: Good speaker
Cons: Non-existent customer support Hard to read Slow locking Inaccurate distances
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: My unit died after only 4 months.
They do not provide a customer support phone number, and enquiries sent via e-mails were ignored. I paid over $800 for this thing, and it is now completely useless. When it... |

Pros: Build quality, styling
Cons: Warranty, support, customer service, software
The Bottom Line: This product should be avoided. Tomtom's software, warranty, and customer service are terrible, which is sad for such a seemingly nice gps unit.

Review: The Tomtom GO 720 is a very nice piece of hardware. It's sleek looking and feels solid and well built. Unfortunately, that is all the good I can say about the product based on my experience with it. My problems with the Tomtom 720 stem from it's...

Pros: LCD touch Screen and voice is crystal clear...easy to operate, long battery life.
Cons: Outdated Maps/POIs. Many map errors. Chooses local roads over highways. Loses route on cloudy days.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: This is a very cute device, but not as useful as I had hoped. I live in the NY/NJ metro area and I still have to carry directions because the maps are grossly out of date. I mean up to 5 years or more out of date! I purchased this in February, 2005...

Pros: Very accurate maps, user friendly interface, extended battery life, fun to use
Cons: Difficult at first to figure out the FM transmitter
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I've been using the GO 720 for a while now and love this device. I'm very familiar with other gps devices, but this is by far my favorite. It has a lot of great features, my favorite being the built in FM transmitter. I've downloaded a few MP3s to...

Pros: Once you have properly set it up this unit is fantastic.
Cons: If you are a computer novice, don't bother...you'll never get it stable.
The Bottom Line: It's a fantastic unit once it's properly set up. Don't buy it if you don't know how to move/manipulate files and directories on a PC or Mac
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I bought my 720 back in mid-December. Spent a good amount of time reading the tomtomforums website and seeing what other users were going through. The bottom line is that this unit is not for a technical neophyte. There are little tricks to getting...

Pros: Accurate directions, up to date maps, PRICE!!!
Cons: "Points of Interest" database not as extensive as some competitors
The Bottom Line: A strong buy. Easy to use and learn. At this price, every car can have GPS - goodbye paper maps!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I admit it - I am directionally challenged. It's not my fault...I am great at following directions. It's just that I always seem to be going someplace where the cities either haven't put up street signs (what's that about?) or freeway exits are not...

Pros: Bluetooth, Mapshare, 4.3inch widescreen
Cons: Inaccurate in routing, Too Menu intensive.
The Bottom Line: Like I said I think I just got a Lemon,I can't give it a Great rating due to the inaccuracies in mapping.

Review: Unfortunately I can not write an in-depth review since I only held onto the unit for 1 Day before returning it. I bought this unit upon the recommendation of a Friend that recently bought one. I had an older Garmin C330 that has never given me a...
