TomTom GO 720 Car GPS Receiver

My unit died after only 4 months.
They do not provide a customer support
phone number, and enquiries sent via
e-mails were ignored.

I paid over $800 for this thing, and it
is now completely useless.

When it worked, it was OK. Some problems
with slow locking to satellites, and
hard-to-read display. Also, distances
are off by a factor of 2 or 3. When
it says "turn right after 100 yards",
the right turn is typically much closer.
Maybe the programmers confused feet with
yards, or something.

But, navigation systems in the US are
generally pretty miserable, and this
one was no worse than the rest.

But the support is non-existent.
