A Light In The Atticus

Date of Review:  Aug 8, 2003
The Bottom Line: This fine film adaptation of Harper Lee's classic novel captures with heartbreaking clarity the stuff of childhood and the evils of the adult world.
Review: I spent today in my home dance studio, carefully working my way through a series of pliers and tap combinations in order to get my famous legs back into full fighting trim for my upcoming projects. It was grueling work; thank heavens I had a full...

holy smokes

Date of Review:  Mar 18, 2008
Review: Gregory Peck was a well loved actor who portrayed his character in this book to a T. Lots of the representation of the black and white theme of the book becomes evident in the very beginning of the movie, and even in black and white this film seems...

To Kill A Mockingbird is timeless...

Date of Review:  Jan 30, 2000
Review: This has to be one of the best movies of all time and Gregory Peck admits it is the best one he ever made. In 1963, he won an Oscar for his performance in this film, and he also won a Golden Globe. This film was adapted for the screen from Harper...

Review: To Kill a Mockingbird was one of the best books I have ever read. Usually when I read the book before I see the movie I hate the movie because it isn't as good as the book. However this movie perfectly portrayed the book and even enhanced my...

"ATTICUS, WHY IS THIS A GOOD MOVIE?"

Date of Review:  Oct 3, 2000
The Bottom Line: WORTH WATCHING AGAIN
Review: When I was younger, one of the movies I was allowed to stay up late and watch was To Kill A Mockingbird. Even if it was on late, my sister and I were allowed to stay up cuddled on the couch and see the whole thing. I guess my parents must have...

All Southerners love "To Kill a Mockingbird"

Date of Review:  Dec 22, 1999
Review: I am sure you have heard the saying, "I have never met a man I didn't like" well I have never met anyone who didn't like "To Kill a Mockingbird". This story set in the Old South exams racism as a small town lawyer, Gregory Peck, agrees to defend a...

Riveting Southern Courtroom Drama

Date of Review:  Jan 14, 2000
Review: I can think of several other courtroom dramas I enjoy, but next to The Rainmaker this is my favorite. Based on the outstanding novel by Harper Lee, this 1962 release is ranked 34 on the American Film Institute's list of 100 Greatest American...

Love it! Love it! Love it!

Date of Review:  Mar 11, 2000

Teach Your Children Well- With This Classic Movie: TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (1962)

Date of Review:  Feb 12, 2001
The Bottom Line: This is a classic movie made with fine actors and fine direction. It is probably one of the top ten movies ever made.
Review: Atticus Finch is the man we all wanted our fathers to be. And if we were lucky, we not only had him, but a Boo Radley in our lives as well. Why? Because, in their own way, both are men of conscience; men for all seasons.

I sometimes say...
