A timeless classic, but not appropriate for children
Date of Review: Mar 8, 2000
To Kill A Mockingbird is a great movie that I would highly recommend to anyone who is over the age of 11 or 12. Though it is not rated, it deals with many adult themes, such as rape, murder, child abuse, racism, and hate. If this movie was rated I believe it should be rated PG-13. Parents should be strongly cautioned not to let their children watch this movie, or to watch it with them so they can explain the adult themes. Though the main characters in this movie are both school-aged children it is not a movie I would suggest for younger children. Also, if you have not read the book To Kill A Mockingbird, I would highly recommend that you read it before watching the movie. This is a truly wonderful movie, that I feel everyone should see at least once, just when they are mature enough to handle it.
