Quality, style and decadence all rolled into one package

by   peter4321 ,  May 11, 2004
Pros: Quality of tuner
Cons: No tone control
The Bottom Line: Absolutely and completely smitten. It has an endless style and sound quality that can make you shiver.
Review: I own a slection of quality radios from Sony to Roberts and to say that Tivoli is the one to beat. Not only does it have the richest sound, but it's classic looks ooze style. The tuner is the same as the model 1 and 2 but with the addition of a clock and ...

Decent clock- but fantastic radio

by   tapokata ,  Jul 10, 2007
Pros: Superb radio, both in sensitivity and audio quality.
Cons: Hour hand could be one or two centimeters shorter on the clock.
The Bottom Line: If you wear glasses and value great audio quality, this is the clock radio for you.
Review: I bought this looking for a true clock radio- one with hands, so that when waking in the middle of the night I could actually tell what time it was, without having to read digits. I got a decent clock- but found a fantastic radio attached to it. ...

Stylish good sounding table radio

by   eberger50 ,  Jan 27, 2004
Pros: Good sound, good looks
Cons: Ergonomic nightmare, somewhat pricey
The Bottom Line: If you want good sound and interesting retro styling in a small table radio, this is for you.
Review: One often speaks of the relation of form and function. Depending upon your esthetic, form may be the trump card. In my case however, it was a situation of function (its primary function – good sound) over function (the operational features) of this ...

A really expensive clock radio

by   beirne ,  Oct 10, 2003
Pros: Excellent sound, nice look, stereo option, can mix in computer
Cons: Badly designed controls, FM reception affected by walking around
The Bottom Line: If you have lots of money and want nice sound when you wake up, buy this, otherwise don't.
Review: Along with my Model Three I own a Tivoli PAL and a Model One. I'm very happy with the Pal and the Model One, but not the Model Three. It is overpriced and the controls are designed badly. It does have nice sound, though. When deciding whether to buy ...

A real snooze...

by   cooneym ,  Jan 15, 2004
Pros: Great tuner, good sound, nice looking design
Cons: Battery operated clock, useless snooze, top firing speaker
The Bottom Line: The Model 3 is overpriced considering the alarm functions. The Model 1 or 2 would be a better choice but look elsewhere for an alarm.
Review: I purchased the unit for it's renowned tuner but also for a replacement of my clock radio. The tuner is everything as claimed and nearly as good as a very high end tuner I currently own. The sound quality is also much better than expected. Where this ...

The clock portion

by   arz123 ,  Oct 12, 2005
Pros: The radio portion is good quality and has good reception.
Cons: For the cost, as a clock radio it fails to meet the grade.
Review: I bought this item last week. The radio is very nice, but I don't think the clock is worth the extra expense. It is very limited. The alarm setting is only accurate to within +- 5 min. If the alarm is set you can't play the radio unless you activate the ...

Tivoli Model Three Clock Radio

by   thetechguy ,  Dec 6, 2003
Pros: Awesome fidelity sound. Beautiful craftsmanship.
Cons: No autoshutoff, No AM/PM setting for alarm. Poor snooze feature.
Review: The quality is unsurpassable as far as radios are concerned. But don't expect much in the alarm features. Who wants to get up to an alarm and have to think about what to hit or turn off. I don't want to touch the alarm unless I need more snooze. ...

I really want to love this.

by   josquin88 ,  Oct 19, 2005
Pros: Glorious sound, great tuner, beautiful materials
Cons: Alarm clock that is awkward at best. Inexcusable for the price.
The Bottom Line: Spend your money on a Model 2. Find a better (and cheaper) way to wake yourself up.
Review: I have two problems writing this review. First, I'm an optimist. If I can give a product the benefit of the doubt, I will. Second, I'm not a rebel or anything, but it hurts me a little bit to go with the flow. I want to be the one to stand up and say, ...

Incomparable piece of junk!

by   turmatic ,  Nov 11, 2006
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: Does not function as a Radio.
Review: I needed to replace my 15 year old Sony and bought this unit based on the hype. After 13 months, guess what? It stopped working, not a sound. Sent a e-mail to Tivoli. No response. Sent another, no sympathy. Send it in but be prepared to pay. ...

AVOID IF YOU CAN!!!!!

by   vezvez ,  Jan 9, 2008
Pros: Looks
Cons: Price, Function
Review: I consider this radio more of a design furniture than a Radio, yes the wood exterior and the unique design of the control and color scheme looks great. But, it has horrible reception, clock in does not stay accurate for long, and the alarm clock ...
