57 Channels and Something On

Date of Review:  Jan 25, 2006
The Bottom Line: Get one! I love always having something to watch. The setup experience is terrible though.
Review: Me and my husband were thinking about Christmas ideas, and we were thinking about how we had just about everything in the $100 or so range that we wanted. Then we thought of the Tivo. We gave the idea to our parents, but as Christmas approached, the...

God Made TiVo, THEN He Rested

Date of Review:  Feb 11, 2005
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the TiVo DVR and the TiVo service for all TV viewers. You'll never miss your favorite show again.
Review: Introduction

I am a huge fan of prime time television shows. The shows I tend to love (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lost, Alias, 24) have ongoing multi-episode storylines so it's extremely annoying to miss even one episode. It used to be a...

Great Product But Not Without It's Quirks

Date of Review:  Mar 3, 2004
The Bottom Line: Do your homework before buying a Tivo to avoid some surprises. But I still highly recommend this product.
Review: Tivo really is a great home product but it does have its share of quirks in terms of day to day usage that hopefully will get ironed out over time. This review is a bit long, but to provide a quality review this was inevitable. Here's my take on...

You'll Talk To It Like It's A Pet

Date of Review:  Jun 30, 2003
The Bottom Line: You have no idea what your missing until you try it. Once you have it, it's hard to watch "normal TV" again.
Review: Overview
Thats right, ever since I got my TiVo I've been talking to it like its a pet-- "Good tivo! good tivo! baaaad tivo, baaaad tivo!"

I bought the 40 hour to "really see if I like it" and also, for another $100, I didn't see...

TiVo Basic

Date of Review:  Dec 6, 2007
The Bottom Line: Works well, but doesn't have enough memory. Not HD compatible.
Review: The TiVo Series 2 40-hour DVR was the first such device we purchased. And why not? It was a deal we couldn't refuse: the model came free with a few months of pre-paid service. It immediately changed our lives. Now we could easily record programs to...

brad's Experience

Date of Review:  Aug 18, 2005
The Bottom Line: Tivo is the DVR of the people. There are competitors, but Tivo's unique features set it apart. Tivo changes the way you watch television.
Review: I love Tivo. It's a great service, a great device. I've had Tivo service since 2001. My family has four Tivos, including 2 Directv DVRs (one Series 1 and the other Series 2) and two stand-alone Series 2 Tivos. Both our stand-alone Tivos are the...

Cool concept, but is it really worth $1200.00 to watch TV?

Date of Review:  Dec 3, 2002
The Bottom Line: TIVO is a great gizmo. However, it is not cheap I can?t say that the initial cost is really worth it though.
Review: I bought my wife a TIVO recorder this past week. I must say, this thing is one cool gadget. TIVO records the shows you want to watch, recommends shows you might want to watch, and filters-out shows/commercials you don't want to watch. That said,...

TiVo will change your life, *probably* for the better

Date of Review:  Jun 12, 2003
The Bottom Line: I recommend TiVo service enthusiastically, but prefer the Sony DVR Player to the TiVo one.
Review: Problems: I replaced my lower capacity Sony DVR with the new Tivo Series 2, and I think the Sony is a better machine. The TiVo drive is noisy when it operates. I don't know if this is a flaw with my particular machine, but it works in every other...

Streamlines your TV watching experience

Date of Review:  Jul 1, 2003
The Bottom Line: For the casual to moderate TV watcher who hates to program a VCR, this TiVo is for you. It is easy to use and simplifies your TV watching life considerably.
Review: A generous friend purchased TiVo for us as a wedding gift, and I've been loving it for the past two months. My wife is a tad disappointed in some of the "glitches" of TiVo so I figured I'd give you views from both sides.

What is TiVo?

The best thing to happen to your TV since Cable!

Date of Review:  Dec 7, 2006
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend purchasing TIVO, it's easy to use and fun to have.
Review: A friend told me to get this, said it would change my life. Boy was he right. With TIVO I don't have to be home when the shows are on. I can watch when I have time, and I'm able to record and store shows for the grandkids to watch when they come to...
