Well Worth It

There is a musical genius the likes of which is hardly found nowadays. That man's name is James Horner.

When James Horner writes a score, it becomes a theme for the whole movie. The feel for the entire film. James Horner's scores more often than no improve an otherwise dull movie. (Mighty Joe Young) or make an already great movie even better (Titanic).

The score to this film is James Horner at his best and he won the Oscar for it a few years ago, it was well deserved.

Horner's talents lay in the fact that he can make his music come alive. The score almost lifts you up and places you on the deck of the doomed boat. If lets you feel the love that DiCaprio and Winslet felt when they were with each other. It puts you in the danger of the ship's sinking that James Cameron created. The score, just like the movie places you on the edge of your seat. You almost feel as if you're waiting to SEE what happens next, but sooner or later you realize you're only listening to music.

Whenever James Horner writes a score you can tell that his whole hear, mind, body and soul go into every note that's on the page. You can hear the almost triumphant feeling he got in his gut when he heard the score in it's final stage for the first time. You can feel it too as it lifts you up and takes you away.

I highly recommend going out a getting a copy of this CD. While you're at it go out and get a copy of any James Horner soundtrack you can get your hands on, you won't regret it.
