Titanic--This Movie Will Never Sink

Titanic was written and directed by James Cameron. The working title that he used was The Ship of Dreams. I think it would have been nice if he would have continued to used this when the movie came out as well..Titanic:The Ship of Dreams. The ship of dreams is exactly what the Titanic was.

I had no idea just how much I would enjoy this movie. My decision to watch it was based on how much I enjoyed the song "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion. It may sound silly, but I wanted to see the parts of the movie that you hear spoken during the song.

My husband and I headed to the theater shortly after it was released.
As smokers we thought "oh goodness, a 3 hour movie" We decided that we would take turns going out to smoke. This movie kept us both so intrigued that neither of us even thought of smoking throughout the entire movie. Now that's saying something, especially for a man!

My husband bought Titanic for me for Valentines day in 1999.
He knew how much I enjoyed the movie and he even thought it was good too.
I will say that I've never regretted this gift from his heart. He's never regretted the money spent as it was worth every cent plus more.

Yes, I cried. I always do when true love is portrayed in a movie. The love story may be fictional, but other parts of the movie at factual. In the beginning of the movie we see a roving camera exploring the sunken Titanic. This is actual footage. The ship was also wonderfully recreated even down to the China dishes.

In my opinion, the acting was superb. The story was well written. The sinking and the emotions therein were very well portrayed.

It prompted my kids and I to explore more on the sinking of the Titanic. Therefore, this movie also proved to be educational as well.

I won't tell you how many times we have watched it, it's just too many times to count. We watch this movie at least once a month in our home. Titanic still keeps my attention throughout the entire movie even though I know exactly what is going to happen.
